    Hi M.I.C Digi,

Thanks for your posts, I really get a lot smarter from following this blog!

I was wondering what it means when you write “supports Android 3.0″. Does that mean that a software-update will be published by the producer for download at a later date, or does it mean that it is possible if you are a hardcore programmer to install Android 3.0 on the device?

In general, as a non-chinese (Danish actually), I find that the greatest disincentive for bying a shanzhai device is that I do not really know which shanzhai producers to trust, and to which degree I can trust them. I do not doubt that there are very cheap producers out there, who will not give any kind of support, but I do not doubt either that there must be producers who are willing to for example publish software updates. I bought a Motorola Milestone last year – I am never buying a Motorola product again – somehow it seems the people Motorola hate the most is their customers. Now I know that about Motorola, but I do not know anything about all the shanzhai brands.

Btw, I was wondering if it is possible to buy a shanzhai device with some kind of ink-technology like Adam Tablet and Amazon Kindle? I am considering buying a device, mostly for reading books in parks, busses and on beaches, and so a good outdoor screen is something that can highly influence my buying decision.

If you buy a tablet PC just for reading book, I suggest you do not buy it. For you, I think Amazon Kindle (thin, light, with ink-tech) is more suitable for. Shanzhai tablet PCs usually have no a good screen, even cannot see anything through screen in the sun. Beyond all question, Shanzhai tablet PC is cheap, but you get what you pay for. so, Kindle would give you a good reading experience. All are my personal views.
